All the little pleasures you want to enjoy when you’re on holiday
The theme evenings or food and wine tasting events that we organise from time to time, allow you to discover the flavours and culinary delights of carefully selected fine wines and Umbrian dishes, followed by desserts. All this accompanied by relaxing live music.
A few examples:
During our “Black Truffle” Evening you can taste starters, first courses and main courses made using this prestigious ingredient. Truffle is a traditional product in the Valnerina area of Umbria and it has a rich distinctive aroma.
During our “Umbria: Land of rarities and surprises” Evening you can savour some of the specialities of traditional Umbrian cuisine: soup made with Colfiorito lentils, small, tender brown lentils or Imbrecciata, which is also made using these lentils, together with beans, chickpeas, grass peas, spelt and barley. You can also taste White Veal IGP (Protected Geographical Identification) and other high quality meats from the central Apennines, such as Chianina beef, served with “Parmigiana of black celery” which comes from Trevi and “Torta al testo” bread baked in the oven or over hot coals. For dessert there is “Rocciata Assisana” filled with apples, pine nuts, sultanas and walnuts, and “Tozzetti” almond biscuits usually eaten dipped in sweet dessert wine.
We also organise the “Umbria the land of olive oil” Tasting, where following the path of the Strada dell'olio DOP (DOP Olive oil trail) – of Colli Assisi-Spoleto, you can taste freshly pressed and organic extra-virgin olive oil, which has an intense fruity flavour.
Then there is our “In vin giungemmo” Wine tasting, which transports you along the various wine trails that criss-cross our region, passing through Montefalco and Bevagna, Assisi and Spoleto, Torgiano and Orvieto, the Colli Martani and the Colli Perugini. To bring out the full flavours of these wines they are accompanied by a selection of local cheeses and Umbrian cured meats.
In addition there is guaranteed fun to be had at one of our card tournaments, which you can participate in with the other guests. This is an opportunity to make new friends and have fun in an informal atmosphere.
